Marasa Sarovar Premiere’s Dasavatara Hotel at Tirupati receives a Special Prize for Exterior at the Prix Versailles Paris 2016 for its unique material storytelling.

The Hotel’s material storytelling is deeply rooted in spirituality, mythology and symbolism, featuring a minimal yet impactful palette of black and gold that echoes the Tirupati idol. Structural and interior elements seamlessly blend concrete, steel and glass with handcrafted details, creating a contemporary yet grounded spatial experience. Emphasizing visual lightness, the design showcases thin sleek roof slabs and floating corridors while the Lotus cafe’s geometric folded plate roof, gracefully poised over a waterbody, mirrors the serene abstraction of the traditional temple land.

The Prix Versailles, hosted annually at UNESCO since 2015, highlights the finest contemporary architectural projects globally. A world jury selects 24 World Titles across categories like Airport, Museums, Hotels, etc. Recognising innovation, cultural heritage and sustainability, these awards honour projects, including those by the best hotel design architects in India, that embody intelligent design principles, ecological efficiency, and social engagement aligning with UN values.
