Dasavatara Hotel, Tirupati
PROJECT AREA: 5000 Sq.ft. | Completed December '2019
We at Marasa Hospitality take immense pride in having collaborated with SJK Architects on the creation of Marasa Sarovar Premiere Tirupati, a project that has not only redefined thematic hospitality in one of India’s most spiritually significant destinations but has also set new benchmarks in experiential hotel design. What distinguishes this hotel is its deep-rooted conceptual foundation - each space within the property has been thoughtfully and artistically envisioned around the ten incarnations (Dashavatara) of Lord Vishnu. This profound thematic approach, brought to life by the vision and expertise of SJK Architects, has given the hotel an identity that is both culturally resonant and architecturally timeless.
From the moment guests enter the premises, they embark on a spiritual and aesthetic journey that transcends conventional hospitality. Each avatar — from Matsya to Kalki — has been interpreted not just as a visual motif but as a spatial and emotional experience. These interpretations are not literal but abstracted to create subtle, immersive environments that evoke contemplation and serenity. Whether it is the fluid, aquatic tones and organic forms representing Matsya, or the layered symbolism and geometric grandeur reflecting Krishna or Rama, every design element is infused with meaning and finesse. This spiritual storytelling through architecture has done more than enhance the guest experience - it has fundamentally transformed the business potential of the hotel. In a market dominated by pilgrimage- driven footfall, Marasa Sarovar Premiere stands apart as a destination in itself. Visitors are not only drawn by proximity to the Tirumala temple but are captivated by the unique architectural and thematic narrative the hotel offers.
This has led to:
- Significantly higher occupancy rates year- round, with many guests choosing extended stays to fully absorb the environment.
- An elevated brand perception, positioning the hotel as a premium spiritual and cultural experience, rather than merely a transit accommodation.
- Strong word-of-mouth and media visibility, with the property being featured in architectural journals, travel publications, and social media by design- conscious travellers.
- Repeat business and guest loyalty, driven by the immersive quality of the space and its resonance with personal and spiritual journeys.
SJK Architects approached the project not simply as designers, but as cultural interpreters and storytellers. Their sensitivity to context, mastery over materiality, and ability to balance symbolism with functionality have been instrumental in the hotel’s success. In essence, SJK Architects have elevated Marasa Sarovar Premiere Tirupati from being a hotel to being an experience — one where design and divinity meet. Their work has set a precedent for what hospitality design
in spiritual and culturally rich locations can aspire to be.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire team at SJK Architects for their visionary contribution and look forward to future collaborations that continue to challenge and inspire.
