This thoughtful integration of design elements ensures a vibrant hub for athletic development and community engagement within the university.

Through the development of a state-of-the-art Sports Block, the SR university campus architecture design entails creating a brand identity for the university. It is designed with a focus on fostering athletic talent and sports people.

Situated between the Library block and the old Pharmacy Building towards the east, the layout revolves around maximizing functionality and engagement with outdoor spaces. Nestled around mature trees and a North-West entrance hinging a commanding position near the main vehicular drop off & cul de sac of the campus. A N-S spine forms the main access route from the hostels into the Sports block, with E-W wind channels. On the south-west corner & towards the south entrance, Palash & Gulmohar trees carve courts around them respectively.

The architectural design prioritizes interaction with the surrounding landscape and facilitates diverse sporting activities. Multi-functional spaces including Yoga, Dance, and Club rooms span the west and north faces across two levels, catering to various interests.

Reversing the idea of a courtyard, an elevated plinth transforms the northern and western lengths into dynamic stadia steps engaging with the outdoor courts.
Access to the terraces is streamlined with dramatic straight-flight staircases along west & north, providing convenient entry to the open-to-sky play courts.

Masterplanning

Solar orientation and wind channeling

The trees courts complement the U-shaped Gym at level 1 and an an Olympic-size pool spans across the calm & secluded eastern length of this plot. The facility also boasts two 50m x 32m courts for badminton and basketball, placed perpendicularly to optimize natural ventilation through westerly wind flows.

This thoughtful integration of design elements ensures a vibrant hub for athletic development and community engagement within the university.
