The mixture of the structural uniqueness of the diamond, & the strong European legacy has contributed to the creation of a mysterious, elegant and stylish environment, much like the nature of the diamond itself.
Orra Mumbai and Orra Hyderabad were the starting point for a transformational brand identity for ORRA – a jewellery brand focused on the diamond. The two key starting points for the design were the facets of the diamond, and the ORRA inheritance – its European heritage. The facets of the diamond, as we explored them could be represented in the glass façade, glass ceilings, lights, walls etc. We chose the most impactful – the glass façade which establishes the suggestion of a diamond’s facets at the street level. The creation of a “tree” in Hyderabad and the pendant in Mumbai, in steel and glass, derived from the diamond also allows for a definition of zones, and a larger than life presence of the structure of diamond.
Taking inspiration from heritage
The symbols of European heritage were defined by black cobbled streets and leaded glass panes. These two elements showed the potential to straddle both worlds – the ancient European stone castles & cobbled streets, which are more subtly revived in the flooring of the store, and the bevelled & leaded lanterns & window panes of medieval Europe revived in the glass panes of the display cabinets.
Use of glass and steel
The mixture of the structural uniqueness of the diamond, & the strong European legacy has contributed to the creation of a mysterious, elegant and stylish environment, much like the nature of the diamond itself.
